How do I get started with my website?
Take a look at our website designs. You will find existing websites and design ideas for you to choose from. Once you have decided on your layout and how many pages you require, contact us to discus the idea further. Don’t worry if you don’t know what you want as a number of demos can be designed around your needs and all you have to do is pick the one that appeals to you. As there is no obligation and no up front fees there is no harm in having a look. If you like what you see then we can take the idea further.
How long does it take to write a website?
It varies depending on how many pages, the complexity of the design and graphics etc. Usually it takesless than a week, in some cases 2-3 days if I have got all your wording and images ready.
What if I already have my own hosting & domain name, will it bring the cost down?
Yes it will. Ask for details.
I may change my mind near the end. Are there any costs involved for your time?
No. Only when you are fully satisfied and want to go ahead with the finished website will you be invoiced. I am that confident that you will like the results.
What should I look for in a website?
Different people look for different things. Whereas one person may be impressed by lots of animated pictures and intro sequences, others find it annoying and distracting. On the other hand, plain text with no images makes a dull and boring website that looks amateurish and will not hold the viewer’s attention for very long. We strive to make our websites as interesting and visually pleasing as possible while always putting content first. There are no multicoloured backgrounds and menus that twirl around, just clear concise web pages. Take a look at our website designs.
Do you use ready available templates and graphics? If not, why?
No. Everything is created by us; beginning with the layout, rendering the graphics and writing the code. This way it gives us total control without restrictions. Your website will therefore be unique and just the way you want it.
Will my website run on web browsers other than Microsoft Explorer?
Yes. It will be tested on the increasingly popular Firefox, Modzilla and Opera browsers and will not fragment as some sites do.
How will my site cater for people with disabilities like visual impairments?
In two ways. Firstly, screen reading software can only read text, it cannot decipher pictures or animated adverts with graphical text. We use ‘alt tags’ which tell the software what it is. This makes it compatible with screen reading software. Secondly, we do not use gaudy colours or patterned background behind the text. We only use web-safe colour schemes.
Do I get an email address?
Yes. You will get one with the website. Alternatively, you could use an existing account, or even both.
After the site is up and running, are there any other costs involved?
No. The price already includes 1 year’s hosting and domain name. You only have to renew the hosting/domain annually.
